What is the root cause of conflict
and inequality in the world?
When I was a little kid I questioned everything. I wanted to know WHY the world was the way it was. I would look at National Geographic magazines, read books and watch educational TV and occasionally catch the morning or evening news and see all the beautiful and amazing things going on in the world, which opened my mind to the beauty and the wonder that we are surrounded by, but I also saw hungry kids who were literally starving, people poaching endangered animals, trashing the environment, and fighting wars that seemed to make no sense.
The problems of the world became extremely personal when some of my friends who chose to join various branches of the military went overseas to fight and die in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

I took their deaths personally and decided to change my life path and use my short precious time here on planet earth to try and solve what I see as the root cause of so much conflict, inequality, environmental destruction and war in the world - "energy security and access", or more specifically, crude oil as the economic foundation of our societies.

In 2013 I joined the solar power industry to provide a better foundational energy source for our global civilization; one that would be abundant, conflict-free, accessible to all, environmentally sustainable, and serve to unlock the flower of humanity through food and water security, improved health care access, improved education access, and empower businesses to survive and thrive with reliable affordable electricity.

I worked at Sungevity, a international residential and commercial solar company, for just shy of 4 years, co-founded Volta LLC, a solar company providing solar power to agriculture, health facilities, schools and businesses in Ghana, and an organization called Solar For Universal Need Corps (SFUN Corps) to provide power to those who need it most, wherever they may be, and volunteered as an Ambassador for Solar Head of State to facilitate the installation of solar energy infrastructure to power residences of heads of state of eleven Pacific Island Development Forum (PIDF) member countries and the PIDF Headquarters to promote renewable energy in the Pacific.
Being part of the global shift from carbon-based fuels to clean and renewable energy, and working in service of those who need affordable energy access the most, has been the most fulfilling endeavor of my life. I encourage you to find the area in life where you can bring your innate skillset to bear to make the world a better place for all :)
